Our story

That’s how Requipment was born, a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to giving sports gear a second life, and in doing so, giving more people a fair chance to play.

Today, every item we refurbish and every pop-up shop we run is part of that same mission: to reduce waste, support local communities, and make sure no one in Liverpool is priced out of the game they love.

Because for us, it’s never just been about equipment, it’s about community, opportunity, and keeping the spirit of sport alive for all.

Community impact

By refurbishing and reselling second-hand sports gear, we help remove one of the biggest barriers to getting active: cost. Our affordable equipment means more children can join local clubs, more adults can return to the sports they love, and more families can stay active together, without breaking the bank.

But our impact goes beyond affordability. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we reinvest our profits directly into Liverpool’s grassroots.

Sustainability commitment

At Requipment, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that being active and protecting the planet should go hand in hand.

Every year, tonnes of perfectly usable sports equipment end up in landfill, from football boots to tennis rackets and gym gear. By collecting, refurbishing, and reselling this equipment, we give it a second life, reducing waste and cutting down the demand for new manufacturing. This means fewer raw materials used, lower carbon emissions, and a smaller environmental footprint for the world of sport.

Our approach also promotes a culture of reuse, showing that quality, performance, and affordability can exist without the need for constant consumption.

Future goals

Requipment may have started as a small idea between five university mates, but our vision has always been big: to make sport accessible, sustainable, and inclusive for everyone.

In the coming years, we aim to expand our reach across the North West and beyond, setting up more pop-up shops so even more people can access affordable, high-quality sports gear. Each new location will serve as both a place to shop and a community hub, connecting people, promoting sustainability, and supporting local sports initiatives.

We’re also working toward building stronger partnerships with schools, clubs, and community organisations.
